Criminal records certificate, duly apostilled

Original and complete photocopy of the passport or travel document, with a validity of at least 6 months

Researchers must present certification issued by the educational institution and signed by the legal representative or the director of the institution, where it is indicated that the person foreign is researcher of the recognized educational center

A job offer indicating the functions, schedule, salary to be earned, signed by the employer, duly authenticated

Two passport size photographs, front and recent date 

You need a passport valid for at least 6 months

You need certification issued by the educational institution and signed by the legal representative or the director of the institution, where it is indicated that the person foreign is researcher of the recognized educational center

You need a Job offer from the research institute in Costa Rica

You need sufficient funds to cover stay period

Letter indicating the reasons for the foreign person who is requesting a temporary residence. Should indicate the full name of the person applicant, nationality, age, occupation, address where you live and where or medium for notifications

Receipt of payment in the amount of US $ 50.00; where the name of the person is indicated foreign as depositor. This money must be canceled in colones, in the account 242480-0 of the Bank of Costa Rica.

Payment receipt for the sum of ¢ 125 and ¢ 2.50; for each sheet you submit with the application for residence, where the name of the foreign person as depositor

Two passport size photographs, front and recent date of the foreign person

Proof of fingerprint registration, issued by the Ministry of Public Security

Proof of consular registration. The requirements for such registration will be determined in the consulate correspondent

Birth certificate of the person foreign issued in the country of origin, duly legalized or apostilled

Criminal record certification of the foreign person from the country of origin or where the legal residents have resided last three years, duly legalized and authenticated or apostilled

Photocopy of all pages of the passport valid for the foreign person

Copy of the titles or corresponding accreditation where demonstrate that you have the training required for the exercise of the trade, if they are securities issued abroad, be legalized or apostilled

If the business is constituted as a company, it must present the constitution of the company, legal status, patent, operating permit by the Ministry of Health and income certification by a Public Accountant Authorized

Proof of registration with the General Directorate of Direct Taxation

You need passport valid for at least 6 month(s)

You must have required training for the exercise of trade

In case if you have a company it must be registered and must have legal status

Proof of economic viability to remain in the country for the intended time

Certified copy of the company's articles of incorporation or original and copy thereof to be confronted by a public official

Certification issued by Authorized Public Accountant proving investment in applicant’s personal capacity

Registration with the Dirección General de Tributación Directa

You need to invest the required amount in a business in Costa Rica

Your company or business should have legal status 

Visa application form, completed and signed 

Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc)

Proof of sufficient means of subsistence, eg. bank statements

Copies of flight ticket reservation or proof of sufficient funds to purchase one

Copies of the police record/criminal record check.

Applicant must have a departure ticket leaving Costa Rica at the end of authorized period of stay

Applicant must be between the age of 18 and 35 inclusive

Applicant must have enough funds for maintenance during the period of initial stay in Canada

Applicant must not be accompanied by dependants

Applicant must have comprehensive health insurance in Canada

A document issued by a competent authority that you receive a lifetime pension of an amount of at least US $ 1,000

You need a proof of permanent monthly income of USD 1,000

You may establish a business or work on your own, but may not work as employee

You will be required to contribute to La Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (C.C.S.S.) (Social Security Fund), acquiring a seguro voluntario (voluntary insurance)

Letter explaining why do you apply for the work permit in which you also indicate your full name, nationality, age, occupation, current address and place or mean for notifications

Receipt for the payment of 125  ¢ and 2, 5 ¢ for each page that you hand out with the residency application. The applicant must pay for it and include his/her name

Receipt of fingerprint registration issued by the Ministry of Public Security

Criminal Record from your native country or the place where you have been living for the past three years. Copy of the migration document to demonstrate that you were a legal resident of said country

Certified copies of each page in the passport

Statement of Employing Company. This statement should indicate what functions will be undertaken by the applicant, the length of the contract and the salary

Legal Constitution and Registration Documents of the company

Certification of the Costa Rican Social Security Institution. This statement proves the company or the employer are registered and have no outstanding monetary obligations.

Proof of income, balance and result situation issued by an Authorised Public Accountant

Statement of Insurance Company. It should indicate that the insurance for the worker is duly paid

You need an invitation/job offer from an employer

You must not have any outstanding monetary obligations in Costa Rica

You need sufficient funds for initial stay period in Costa Rica

Acceptance letter of the teaching institution, public or private, or the institution (recognized in Costa Rica) stating the admission of the person as a student
