Visa application form, completed and signed 

Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc)

Proof of sufficient means of subsistence, eg. bank statements

Copies of flight ticket reservation or proof of sufficient funds to purchase one

Copies of the police record/criminal record check.

Applicant must have a departure ticket leaving Costa Rica at the end of authorized period of stay

Applicant must be between the age of 18 and 35 inclusive

Applicant must have enough funds for maintenance during the period of initial stay in Canada

Applicant must not be accompanied by dependants

Applicant must have comprehensive health insurance in Canada

Application letter for a provisional visa under the special category of student, where the following data is included: i) full name and last name, ii) nationality, iii) passport number, iv) current address, v) occupation, vi) intended address whilst in Costa Rica, vii) date and place of birth, viii) fax number to receive notifications and ix) date and signature

Criminal records certificate, duly apostilled

Original and complete photocopy of the passport or travel document, with a validity of at least 6 months

Certification issued by the institution in charge of the volunteer program and signed by the representative legal, where he Describe the volunteering project and indicate the work that the foreign person will do, the term of stay in the country and the detail of its financing

Proof of economic viability to remain in the country for the intended time

Two passport size photographs, front and recent date 

You need a passport valid for at least 6 months

You need certification issued by the institution in charge of the volunteer program

You need sufficient funds to cover stay period
