If you want to work as a self-employed person in Slovenia, a single permit may be issued for residence and work as a self-employed person. You may work in your own company after one year of continuous residence in Slovenia, unless you are registered in the Slovenian Business Register as a person who will perform an independent professional activity .

What are eligibility requirements for the Self Employment Residence ?

  • You need a valid for at least three months after the intended stay in Slovenia
  • You need to establish and register a company in Slovenia
  • You need to invest an amount to at least 50.000 euro in fixed assets
  • You will employ a slovenian or EU-national for at least 6 months
  • Your company must company must produce a minimum of 10.000 euro turnover in 6 months
  • You need a valid travel health insurance of at least 30,000 Euros
  • You need a clean criminal record from the country of origin or place of residence
  • You need sufficient means of subsistence
  • You need verified public evidence
