3 Visas for Young People for Norway

Visa application form, completed and signed 

Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc)

Copies of proof of sufficient financial means e.g. original bank statements with banking history, etc.

Copies of flight ticket reservation (or proof of sufficient funds to purchase one)

Applicant must be a national of Canada and must be residing in Canada at the time of application

Applicant must intend to holiday in Norway

Applicant must be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application.

Applicant must have enough funds for maintenance during the period of initial stay in Norway

Applicant must have health insurance for the duration of stay in Norway.

Applicant must have a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket 

Applicant must not be accompanied by dependents

Applicant must Intend to leave Norway at the end of work holiday stay.

Passport and copy of all used pages in passport

Signed cover letter from the Application portal (or application form)

Two new/recent passport size photos with white background

The UDI's Contract for cultural exchange between au pair and host family, signed by yourself and your host family

Course certificate for completed e-learning course for host families in au pair cases

Documentation of the nationality of the host family (for example copies of their passports)

If the host family is a single-parent family, documentation of the single parent's percentage responsibility for the child

If the host family already has an au pair, a letter from the host family where they confirm when the former au pair is moving out

If applicant is applying from Norway, or wish to wait in Norway while your application is being processed, because you qualify as a skilled worker, documentation of your education and/or documentation of your work experience 

If applicant wishes to submit application in a country other than your home country, documentation that you have held a residence permit for the last six months in this country

Applicant must be over the age of 18 and not have turned 30

Applicant must return to home country at the end of stay in Norway, and the circumstances in your home country must also indicate that you can return

Applicant should know his/her and host family Rights and obligations (check link)

Documentation which shows that you have somewhere to live in Norway 

Documentation that you have sufficient funds for your stay 

Documentation of your education and/or documentation of your work experience 

If you have a residence permit as a student at university college or university, student at a vocational school or student at upper secondary school: Documentation which shows that you have completed your degree/education in Norway, or that you have taken all exams and/or handed in all assignments which are necessary to complete your degree/education in Norway

If you have a residence permit for additional education in order for your education to be recognised in Norway: Documentation which shows that your education has been recognised in Norway, or is about to be recognised

If you want a representative to follow up your application in UDI on your behalf: Power of attorney form

Applicant must be a job seeker and look for employment as a skilled worker in Norway. The work cannot be as a religious leader/teacher or an ethnic cook

Applicant must fulfill one of the following requirements

Applicant must have a residence permit as a student at university college or university, student at a vocational school or student at upper secondary school, and apply for a residence permit as a job seeker before your permit expires. You must have completed your degree/education in Norway, or 

Applicant must have a residence permit for additional education in order for your education to be recognised in Norway, and apply for a residence permit as a job seeker before your permit expires. Your education must have been recognized, or be about to be recognized, or

Applicant must have a residence permit as a researcher with own funds and apply before this permit expires, or

Applicant must have a residence permit as a skilled worker with an employer in Norway for being a researcher at a university, university college or research institute. You must apply before this permit expires

Applicant must have enough money to live on during the period you intend to stay in Norway. You must have at least NOK 20 248 per month, i.e. NOK 242 966 per year. This must be your own money, and must normally be in a Norwegian bank account. If you have a job offer in Norway while you are searching for a relevant skilled job, the income from this job can be included in this sum

Applicant must have one of the following types of education/qualifications

A completed vocational training programme of at least three years at upper secondary school level, for example as a carpenter or health worker. There must be a corresponding vocational training programme in Norway, or

A completed education or degree from a university/ university college, for example a bachelor's degree as an engineer or nurse, or

A special qualifications that applicant have obtained through long work experience, if relevant in combination with courses etc. A permit is only granted in such cases in exceptional circumstances. Your qualifications must be equivalent to those of someone who has completed vocational training
