A working holiday visa is a residence permit allowing you to undertake employment and holiday (and sometimes study) in New Zealand, For many young people, holding a working holiday visa enables you to experience living in New Zealand without undergoing the usual costly expenses of finding work sponsorship in advance or going on expensive university exchange programmes.


You need to:

  • have enough money to pay for a return ticket, and

  • be coming mainly on holiday, with work being a secondary intention.


Age: Available to 18-30 years old


Family: You can not bring your children or family members.


Quota: 100 annually

What are eligibility requirements for the New Zealand Working Holiday Visa?

11 Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicant must have a passport valid for at least 15 months after arrival in New Zealand
  • Applicant must be in good health.
  • Applicant must be of good character.
  • Applicant must genuinely intend to holiday in New Zealand.
  • Applicant must be aged between 18 - 30.
  • Applicant must be a citizen of Latvia
  • Applicant must have a ticket to leave New Zealand or enough money to buy such a ticket at the end of the stay.
  • Applicant must have sufficient funds for maintenance in New Zealand
  • Applicant must have not previously entered New Zealnad on a Working Holiday visa
  • Applicant must have full medical insurance for the length of stay in New Zealand
  • Applicant must not be accompanied by dependents.

Which documents do I need to apply for the New Zealand Working Holiday Visa?

7 Document Required

  • Copies of valid passport (like the bio page, past visas, etc)
  • Copies of police clearance certificate.
  • Copies of return tickets or proof of enough money to buy one
  • Copies of proof of sufficient funds (bank statements, credit card statements, bank drafts or travellers’ cheques.)
  • Copies of travel health insurance
  • Applicant might need to provide X- ray or medical certificate, kindly check the link:
